All learner motorcyclists and moped riders must complete (CBT) compulsory basic training before they can ride on the road. Bike Start is an approved (ATB) training body using a DSA approved site for all its off-road training with qualified and friendly instructors.
Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) was introduced on 1 December 1990 for all new provisional licence holders of both mopeds and motorcycles. CBT is not a test, there is not an exam – it is a course of training that you are required to complete satisfactorily.
Bike Start is an established Motorcycle Training School based in Cramlington, Northumberland; the company has been established since 1996 and is run by owner by Peter Waites. We are a Driving Standards Agency Approved Training Body.
Here at Bike Start we have been teaching people to drive safely for ten years now and in that time we have helped hundreds of people pass their test with minimum fuss and hassle.
We know from experience that our training courses support and encourage learners to reach test standard, and prepare them for riding safely in today’s traffic conditions. We are often asked by clients how long it will take them to learn to ride satisfactorily, unfortunately there’s no simple answer. Everyone is different! But you can be assured that we will work at a pace you are comfortable with.
Maybe you are a born again rider, and haven’t ridden a motorcycle for some time, or had an accident in the past which knocked your confidence, why not consider our refresher training. Our instructors will be pleased to discuss your requirements with you and tailor a training program suited to your particular needs.
At Bike Start we will help you develop skills at your own pace and regain confidence in the knowledge you are receiving the finest quality training in constant communication with your instructor.
